Biografie
Benni Bilgeri, geboren in Hard, Österreich, hat es zu einem
der profiliertesten Gitarristen des Landes gebracht und ist einer der wenigen
österreichischen Musiker, die mit Weltstars zusammen spielen.
Ob Jazz, Swing, Funk und auch vor allem Rock - Benni Bilgeri
hat das ABC des Gitarrenspiels von Grund auf gelernt und verlegte sich nach
Engagements in diversen regionalen Bands (Jugs, Paranoia, Stich, Infra Steff)
auch auf Arrangement, Komposition und Produktion.
Als Arrangeur und Mit-Komponist bei bekannten
österreichischen Gruppen (Tschako & Kapelle, GS-Band, Kiosk-Allstar Band)
wurden bald auch internationale
Produzenten und Musiker auf ihn aufmerksam. Neben einer langen Zusammenarbeit
mit Film-Komponist Harald Kloser (u. a. Chris Thompson), war Benni Bilgeri bald
gern gesehener Side-Man von Superstars wie Tom Waits, den Pointer Sisters,
Katrina & the Waves, Jose Feliciano, Go West, Star Produzent Peter Wolf etc.
Später schrieb er selber Soundtracks - „Echopark“ mit Tom Hulce oder „Sternberg
Shooting Star“ sind nur die bekanntesten - und widmete sich in letzter Zeit
auch der Produktion von diversen Musikprojektionen im Pop Genre.
Kommende Projekte, wie „Voodootronic“ (Funk-Rock-Band), und
einem kommenden Solo-Album bestätigen nur die stetige Kreativität dieses österreichischen
Ausnahmenmusikers.
Versatile
musician, guitarist,composer,producer and arranger Benni Bilgeri was born in
Hard Austria . .Before his Mother
bought him a guitar Benni started with Flute and Drums .But after he watched Deep Purple , Led Zeppelin and Hendrix
on the TV he knew that this is his
life ! In the years following Benni Bilgeri taught himself how to
play the guitar. He hung out with older friends and musicians who showed him
how to play and how to set the chords . During High School and after he was playing in some famous local
Bands ( The Juggs ,Paranoia , Stich , Infra Steff ( Billy Cobham on
Drums ) ....etc. )After that he was interrested also doing arrangments and
producing . As a composer and arranger for some famous Austrian acts ( Tschako
und die Kappelle , GS – Band , Kiosk All Star – Band ) soon some international
producers and musicians
like to know him . After a long
working period together with L.A.
based Filmmusic composer Harald Kloser
( S.O.S.United , SternBerg Shooting Star , Echopark ( with Tom Hulce )
etc. he met Producer Peter Wolf in Los Angeles .
During
a long work together with Peter Wolf
he was a Side – man for Go West, Pointer Sisters, Katrina and the
Waves, Zucchero .........etc . Later on
he was doing Filmmusic as a composer
-producer for different Films in Austria
, Germany and Switzerland . During that period he
always does still some sessions in Austria
, London , Barcelona or Los
Angeles . Also he is playing in different bands
